Faran Tahir is a Pakistani-American film and television actor. Faran Tahir was born in Los Angeles whilst his parents were studying acting and directing at UCLA Theatre Department but later grew up in Pakistan.

Hailing from a well-renown theatre family, both his parents are actors, directors and writers. Faran moved back to Los Angeles in 1980, where he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Theatre before acquiring a graduate degree from Harvard's Institute for 2 Advanced Theatre Training.

He made his film debut in 1994 as Nathoo in Disney's live action version of The Jungle Book. He has since gone onto appear in such films as Charlie Wilson's War (2007) Iron Man (2008) and Star Trek (2009). He has guest starred in populist television shows like, Dallas, Warehouse 13, Blue Bloods and Lost, to name a few.
